The Reed Community Foundation Prepares to Relocate to Ben Hill Community Center

HEALTHY MINDS, HEALTHY BODIES, HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

The Reed Community Foundation announced in October with Mayor G.T. Bynum that the Foundation is partnering with the City of Tulsa to occupy the abandoned Ben Hill Community Center in 2020.   The city will invest in roof repair and exterior renovations from 2006 bonds while the Reed Community Foundation will renovate the interior.   Additionally, the City of Tulsa will invest $2.7 million toward renovating Ben Hill park from the 2019 "Improve Our Tulsa" bond.

The Reed Community Foundation has been active in the community servicing at-risk children for more than 14 years.    Led by Coach Keith Reed, the Foundation provides a safe environment for children’s activities and provides accountability lessons and life skills.   Currently the Foundation reaches more than 60 children between the ages of 4 and 12 per day, provides a home school atmosphere, and each child receives a hot meal donated by the Intrinsic Foundation.

In relocating to the Ben Hill Community Center, Coach Reed plans to double and eventually triple the number of children the Foundation serves.
